How to Mount With Standoff Screws

The back panel supporting your neon sign is made of an acrylic board with predrilled holes suitable for the standoff screws that we include in your package when we ship your sign out.

 

Standoff screws are the superheroes of the signage world. They hold up LED neon signs with ease, making sure they never fall victim to gravity. They give your signs a floating effect that's out of this world. Trust us, your signage will be the envy of all the other signs in town.

The Standoff Screw System

 

With reference to the illustration above, each standoff screw assembly is made up of the following units (from right to left):

  • 1x Standoff cap
  • 2x plastic washers
  • 1x Mounting Screw
  • 1x Standoff Barrel
  • 1x Wall Anchor

1. Lift the sign on the wall and use a pencil to mark the holes through the panel. Ensure that all holes are marked.

2. Use a drill to create holes in the wall and insert an appropriate wall anchor in the hole. If you're mounting the sign on a dry wall, use dry-wall compatible anchors.

3. Prepare the standoff screws by removing their caps from the barrels. The cap can be unscrewed from the barrel by hand by turning it counter-clockwise (just like opening a bottle). Make sure to keep the plastic washers aside.

4. Insert the mounting screws inside the hole of the standoff screw barrel.

5. Use a screwdriver to drive the mounting screw inside the anchor. This should secure the barrel to the wall. Drive the mounting screw all the way inside the anchor and make sure it's tightened.

6. Last step is to drive the cap of the standoff screws into the barrels, but make sure to sandwich the panel between the two plastic washers then screw in the cap on top by hand by turning it clockwise. Make sure it's secured in place.

 

 

 

Repeat Steps 1 through 6 for all provided screws.
